Crock Pot Hearty Meat Sauce

1 medium onion, chopped

1 T. butter

1 lb. ground beef

1/2 lb. ground sweet italian sausage

28 oz. can crushed tomatoes

6 oz. tomato paste

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp. sugar

1 beef bullion cube

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. pepper

1/2 tsp. worcestershire sauce

1/4 tsp. dried basil

1/4 tsp. dried oregano

pinch red pepper flakes

3 bay leaves

Melt the butter in a skillet and saute the onion for 5-6 minutes, transfer to the crock pot. Using the same skillet brown the ground beef and sausage until cooked through, drain well and add to the crock pot. Stir in the remaining ingredients, cover and cook on low for 5 hours or high for 3. Serve with your favorite pasta.
