Crock Pot Boiled Peanuts and How to Freeze them
16 oz. raw peanuts
water
1/4 to 1/3 C. salt (this will be to your taste)
1 chicken bullion cube
Put the peanuts in your crock pot and cover completely with water. Add the salt and bullion cube, stir then cover and cook on low for 18 hours. You will need to keep a check on them after 10 hours, adding more water as it cooks down. If you are wanting to freeze them, allow them to cool completely in the crock pot. Spoon the peanuts into ziploc bags then add about 1/3 C. of the liquid to each bag. Freeze for up to 6 months. To reheat, add the frozen peanuts and liquid to a pot along with 1/2 C. water. Bring to a boil and cook for 10 minutes.
